Do you feel like your children are one step ahead of you when it comes to IT? Here you'll find lots of useful links to sites that can help you monitor your child's Internet use. Search engines such as Google have ‘search settings’ buttons which you can alter to restrict searches and filter out inappropriate content for children. This is usually a simple tick box wizard which takes little time to complete.

It is advisable to have some kind of parental control software. Some software can be downloaded from the internet for free. Here is a link to the Which? website. There is a lot of useful information on this site about how to download software and set time constraints on Internet usage or limit search result.

It is everybody's responsibility to make sure children and young people feel safe and cared for. It is important that you know who to speak to if you are concerned about ANY child in or out of school. Passing on information could help to safeguard young people and should not be seen as interfering. Our safeguarding officer at Scissett is the Head Teacher - Elaine Watson, you can speak to her in confidence about any issues regarding the safety and well-being of children.
